New client onboarding process

How do I onboard a new client to ModernAdvisor?

The client onboarding process is designed with three flexible options to accommodate how you interact with your clients. They are:

  1. Prefill - Gives you the ability to prefill important client and account information before generating an email invite to the client asking them to complete the onboarding process.

    Here’s a short video reviewing the functionality of the prefill onboarding option:

    We have made a change to the way the selection of portfolios is made for clients effective June 17, 2024. This change is being made for compliance reasons and to ensure ModernAdvisor is fulfilling its fiduciary responsibilities as a Portfolio Manager. Going forward, we will ask clients about their preferred investment approach at the time of onboarding and will use their answer to recommend a portfolio option between Core, BCV, and Harmony. The Preferred Portfolio Manager step has been removed from the advisor pre-fill process (9 seconds into the video below). More information on this change can be found here.

  2. Referral Link - Useful for clients who are comfortable completing the onboarding process on their own.

  3. Onboard Now - Great for situations when you are completing the onboarding process with clients during an in-person meeting.
